The inaugural Trans-Tasman Yacht Race organised by CYCA will be conducted in February 2025

The Trans-Tasman Yacht Race, which spans 1,270 nautical miles across the Tasman Sea, is set to start on 28 February 2025, this race promises to be an exhilarating sled ride to Auckland, with the co-operation of Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron.

This race will occur biennially, alternating with the Ponant Sydney Noumea Yacht Race in even years and the Trans-Tasman Yacht Race in odd years. A distinctive feature of this event is the staggered start, spread over a three-day period starting from 28 February to 2 March 2025. Start times will be assigned based on boats’ IRC and PHS ratings.
